At www.cffm.org/ – Christian Family Fellowship explains an introduction into their beliefs and emphasis on “Love”. We say it this way:
Joy
Joy is an important experience that brings strength to our Christian life. The Scripture tells us this explicitly. Nehemiah 8:10, “Then he said to them, “Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Love and joy are both fruit that blossoms from the Spirit of God that we have within us (Galatians 5:22). We need not be afraid of depression or loneliness because we know the power of the Holy Spirit, and the joy of the Lord can be a tangible experience for us in Christ. Joy is not something that we feel in limited amounts or in rare instances. The joy that comes from the power of the Holy Spirit can bubble and flow up from within us because of who Jesus Christ is and what He is doing.
The joy of the Lord is expressed by Paul the Apostle in the New Testament in this way in the book of Philippians. “Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.” (Philippians 3:1). Paul had spoken to them and was reminding them of the joy that was theirs in Christ Jesus. He goes on to say “rejoice in the Lord always” in this same chapter. If we are told to rejoice in the Lord Jesus always, then certainly this experience is not left for rare occasions and is not qualified as a hard to attain state of mind and well-being.
