At www.cffm.org/ – Christian Family Fellowship explains an introduction into their beliefs and emphasis on “Love”. We say it this way:
Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience…” Patience is a fruit, a result, an outcome of the Spirit of God. When we have patience, this fruit prevents us from being angered, jumping to false conclusions, and using harmful words. Patience in our lives can be one of the qualities that people around us distinctly recognize. “She is so patient” can be heard while watching a mom with her three young children. Listening and hearing someone express themselves fully can require a lot of patience at times.
Think of the patience of Jesus Christ as He grew into manhood and waited until the beginning of His ministry when He was baptized by John in the Jordan. Moses was patient when he spent 40 years in the desert. David was in the wilderness for 14 years. Joseph also spent years in a prison as he awaited the promise of God on his life. We also know that Abraham waited about 20 years before Isaac was brought into the world out of the deadness of Sarah’s womb. Patience has been a key indicator of great men and women who believed God throughout the narrative of God’s Word. We too can have this patience because of the Spirit of Christ that resides within us.
