In light of the current biological threat of Covid-19, our world has been consumed by doubt, fear, and panic. But God’s Word still shines like a beacon in the night making us, as Jesus put it, the light of the world.
In Ephesians 6, God through the apostle Paul reminds us of an entire armor we have to fight off the devil’s attacks (which in case there was any doubt, this pandemic is right up in his bag of tricks). One of those weapons is the Sword of the Spirit, a.k.a. the Word of God.
So today, fellow believers and warriors, we are arming you with an arsenal of verses to bolster your faith, stand strong, and back the enemy down!
Your Faith-Filled Arsenal
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the holy spirit.
III John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.
But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”
My son, give attention to my words…for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.
Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all of you who hope in the Lord.
“For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord…
II Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
…the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
I Corinthians 14:33
God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
I John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Vows made to you are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You, for You have delivered my soul from death. Have you not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
…For I am the Lord who heals you.
So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
I Peter 2:24-25
…who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
The above is quoted from Isaiah 53:4-5:
Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
II Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
You are Mighty and Loved
And if you’re still reading, we are going to finish out our arsenal with the full Psalms 91 – it is a power punch. God bless you mightily and keep you safe, sane, and healthy!
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the [a]fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.
