At www.cffm.org/ – Christian Family Fellowship explains an introduction into their beliefs and emphasis on “family”. We say it this way:

Family

“The Bible describes the followers of Jesus as God’s family.  We are born again into an eternal household of the Father’s love.  He has uniquely gifted each of His children and called us to stand together in compassion, encouragement, and forgiveness. The spirit-inspired kindness that we share in our faith-communities works to heal relationships and restore families.”

Our beliefs concerning family are central to how we got started back in 1996. Where we sit in 2019, the emphasis on family and teaching on family is intentional and significant to us. God does describe us as family when He calls us “little children” in the letters from John the Apostle. (See 1 John 2:1, 12, 13, 18, 28, 3:7, 18, 4:4, 5:21) God calls us family when He calls us “sons and daughters” in 2 Corinthians 6:18. We know that we are the family of God because we are “brothers and sisters” in Christ. (See 1 Corinthians 12:1, Romans 8:12, 2 Corinthians 1:8).

God’s family and our unity together is based on the Spirit. This is where we find a bond, an inseparable connection that produces and is based upon peace. Ephesians 4:3 ESV, “Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” In the family of God, our eagerness is in maintaining unity based upon and proceeding from the Spirit. Christians are not eager to be recognized, publicly acknowledged, or lifted up above our brothers and sisters in Christ. As brothers and sisters, we are to look on the things of others as more important than our own (Philippians 2:3-4).
