Psalm 100 NRSV, “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing. Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Like the sound of a trumpet blast, all of the earth is called to stand at attention and praise the Lord (Psalms 98:4 and 66:1). All of the world is called into the overwhelming expression of joy, a joy that wells up within and comes out of our mouths. David was one of the greatest warriors of all time, but he was also renown as an expressive and dedicated worshipper. If we want to be great warriors we must become great worshippers. Jesus worshipped as he entered the most intense warfare and affliction that he would ever face (Mark 14:26 and John 17).  There is a freedom of expression in worship. When we allow ourselves to be shamelessly free in worship, these actions break us of hardness of heart, fear of how we are perceived by man and other hinderances that may have encased us. Worship is expressing ourselves before our God. Worship can be stoic at times, but does not have to be. Worship and life in general should be a genuine and authentic display of our personalities and our love for the Father.
Take the time to worship alone. We include music in each of these Internet Newsletters in Christian Family Fellowship because we believe that worship is important. These are not just songs included for entertainment, but these songs are placed here for you with intention. There is a tangible gladness that can and will surface in worship. Our worship turns our minds to the Almighty God and away from lies and accusations. Our praise sets our mind above and not on the weapons formed against us which absolutely will not prosper. Psalms 100:2 ESV, “Come into his presence with singing!” If we want to be with God and spend time with Him, we should sing! This includes singing within ourselves and by ourselves (Ephesians 5:19).
We express to Him that He alone is good. We are deeply aware that He made us and that we are His. We can sing and confess that His steadfast love endures forever. His unwavering love was with us yesterday and in years past. The active love of God is with us now. God is currently working. Right now, God is working all things together for good, for us and on our behalf as we love Him and are the called ones in alignment with His purpose (Romans 8:28). We can believe this and rest in this spiritual reality in the unseen as we worship. Just like the end of Psalm 100 states, there is a consistency in His love. As the people of God, we can reflect God’s love back to Him in consistent and dedicated times of worship.
