When it comes to thinking about Jesus, there is much to consider. Who is he to you?
The most common aspect that we first think of about Jesus is that he is our Savior. This title deals with his humility.
But then there’s that other title that we must all deal with, and that is Jesus is Lord. As a matter of fact, he’s the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
“And he (Jesus) has on his robe and on his thigh a name written: ‘KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.’” Revelations 19:16 NKJV
This title deals with his majesty. And there are still many other titles and attributes that describe who he is.
Holy DNA
Let me first endeavor to build an image before you of his majesty. At his baptism, a voice was heard from heaven declaring, “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”

Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, born of Mary and the Spirit of God. He is a man who has the DNA of God.
He, therefore, had sinless blood, so that he could be the Lamb of God that would take away the sins of the world.
“…John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 NKJV
Anointed with Spirit and Power
In Acts chapter 2, it says that God made Jesus both Lord and Christ. He is the anointed ruler.
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36 NKJV
Later in Acts, it says that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.
“The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ – He is Lord of all – that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” Acts 10:36-38 NKJV

To be a lord is to have a position; to be anointed is to have the power to fulfill the position.
Because of his faithful walk and humility to be our Passover Lamb, Philippians says that God highly exalted him and gave him a name above all names:
“Therefore God also has highly exalted him and given him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV
Jesus Outranks Everyone
In Colossians 1:15, it says that Jesus is the firstborn of all creation. The nuance of the Greek means he is the holder of first place; he is the superior one.
He outranks everyone. He is the commander-in-chief of the universe and as such, EVERYTHING bows before him.
Another verse in Colossians says he is the head of all principality and power.
“For in [Christ] dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and you are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power.” Colossians 2:10 NKJV
From God the Father, Jesus has received all authority in heaven and in earth, and the Father has put all things under Jesus’ feet.
Jesus has gone into heaven and is now on the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
He is Lord.
He is Lord of the Sabbath.
He is the Lord of peace.
He is the Lord of glory.
He is the Lord of Lords.
He is Lord of all.
This is a quick summary that indicates some of the majesty of Jesus. In Part 2, we will look at the humility of Jesus as well.
